1.I wish I (我希望自己)+ Past Simple (一般过去时)= Present Disappointments 表达现在的失望情绪

将I wish(我希望)与一般过去时连用,以表达你对现在发生的某件事感到失望。这与使用非真实条件句来表达假想中的事相类似。

I wish I had a better job。

我希望能找到更好的工作。

I wish I had more time for my family。

我希望自己能有更多的时间陪伴家人。

I wish I spoke Italian。

我希望自己会说意大利语。

2.I wish I(我希望我)+ Past Perfect(过去完成时)= Regrets about the Past(对过去的事感到遗憾)

将I wish(我希望)与过去完成时连用,可以用来表达对过去发生的某件事感到遗憾。这与使用非真实过去条件来表达与过去截然不同的结果相类似。

I wish I had been hired for that job。

我真希望自己能得到这份工作。

I wish I had worked harder in school。

我希望自己读书时能更加刻苦。

I wish I had saved more money when I was young。

我希望年轻的时候能多存点钱。

3.If only I (要是我······多好)+ Past Simple(一般过去时)= Present Disappointments(对现在某件事感到失望)

该形式是用来表达对现在某件事感到失望。这与上文中提到的用法相似。

If only I played soccer well。

要是我足球踢得棒就好了。

If only I understood math。

要是我会做数学题就好了。

If only I had a faster car。

要是我有一辆更快的车就好了。

4.If only I (要是我·····多好)+ Past Perfect (过去完成时)= Regrets about the Past(对过去某件事感到遗憾)

该形式是用来表达对过去某件事感到遗憾。这与wish+过去完成时的用法相似。

If only I had moved to this city earlier。

要是我早点搬去那座城市就好了。

If only I had asked her to marry me。

要是我向她求婚就好了。

If only I had known about that last year!

要是我去年就知道这个消息就好了。

These forms can also be used to express disappointment with others:

这些形式也可以用来表达对别人的失望之情。

I wish she had paid better attention in class。

我真希望她能把精力多放点在学习上。

I wish they asked me more questions。 I‘m sure I could be of more help。

If only they worked with us! We would give them a better deal than Smith and Co。
