In the 2019 Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), students of Yew Chung International School of Qingdao, once again, earned themselves a place amongst the world’s brightest!
We are honoured to announce that, in IGCSE Foreign Language in Mandarin Chinese, KIM Bo Yoon and KIM Dong Hyun were awarded the Top Mark in the world. To our same proud, all the YCIS Qingdao IGCSE students achieved A*, the IGCSE top grade.
我们非常荣幸地宣布，在IGCSE普通话课程考试中，我校的金甫润和金东炫两名同学取得了世界最高分，并荣获世界杰出奖；同样令人骄傲的是，青岛耀中的全体考生均获得了IGCSE最高等级A*的好成绩。
IGCSE, offered by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), is an integrated part of international education and has been one of the most famous and well-established curricula. The authority of IGCSE is widely recognised among the top universities worldwide. YCIS Qingdao students have been gaining excellent results in their IGCSE Exams since 2010. Each year more than one of our student receiving the IGCSE Top Mark for three years consecutively. All these excellent awards gained by our students are the best proof of YCIS Qingdao being the pioneer in international education.

At YCIS Qingdao, the Character Education companies our Language Curriculum from the beginning of the overall Learning Process. YCIS Qingdao believes the family participation in school life is a great way to encourage our students to learn better. Therefore, we do our best to maintain a close connection between the school and each family. We arrange regular fun Parent Organisation (PO) activities, which will allow YCIS parents to build a stronger relationship with the school, get to know the campus better, and learn more about Chinese culture together with their children.

Regarding Parental Involvement, we interviewed parents of the 2019 IGCSE Top Mark students. Both mothers shared fascinating stories and experiences as active PO members during their children’s primary stage. Through participating in regular PO meetings, they believe the school information is well-shared. They also appreciated the feedback from teachers, which has fully encouraged their children to acquire knowledge happily and efficiently. Each year, parents have great fun joining a list of different activities at Yew Chung, such as the Chinese Culture Week and Family Fun Day.
就家校关系的话题，我们对金东炫和金甫润两位获得IGCSE世界最高分同学的家长进行了采访。两位妈妈都曾是家长委员会（PO）的积极成员，历来支持学校工作。她们表示，孩子取得好的成绩，离不开老师及时给予的学习及生活反馈，以及良好师生关系的构建与维护。两位妈妈还提到，家长们都非常喜欢耀中的家校互动活动，尤其是中国文化周、家庭同乐日等活动。
